Fears and Phobias

Public Speaking

Insomnia

Insomnia is the disturbance of a normal sleep pattern, and it’s estimated that approximately one in four people will suffer from the condition at some point in their life. Given that sleep is an extremely important state that allows the individual to rest and build up their strength, a lack of sleep leads to people feeling drained and exhausted, resulting in poor performance at work, a lack of concentration, irritability and in many cases physical/mental illness.

Confident Childbirth

Hypnobirthing is an extremely useful tool to help mothers prepare for the birth of their child. Hypnobirthing addresses any concerns and fears the mother may have regarding the birth of their child, as well as using methods designed to reduce the pain, and length of labour, including lowering the risk of any chances of intervention.

The programme will include techniques such as deep relaxation, visualisation and self-hypnosis which are all intended to help dissolve any negative thoughts and concerns, as well as helping you to feel in control, confident and prepared for the birth.

Figures from the American HypnoBirthing Institute suggest that:

• Only 15% of pregnant women who received hypnotherapy for childbirth required pain relief compared to 70% needing pain relief in the non-hypnosis group.
• Hypnotherapy for childbirth is highly beneficial with only 20% of mums who received hypnotherapy requiring an epidural compared to 70% in the group that received no hypnosis.
• Pregnant women who had received hypnotherapy stood a 20% reduced risk of experiencing an induction and a 16.5% reduced risk of experiencing a C-section.
• British researchers also found a significant reduction in the length of labour for first and second time mothers, with the 70 hypnosis patients spending an average of 6 hours 21 minutes in labour compared to 70 participants that received no hypnosis who took an average of 9 hours 45 minutes.
